The Browns have elevated undrafted rookie LB Marcus Benard from the practice squad to the active roster. A defensive end at Jackson State, Benard made a splash in the Browns' preseason opener at Green Bay in August. He was released in early September as the Browns shaped their regular-season roster and re-signed to the practice squad, his move to the active roster was announced Monday morning as the Browns returned from a long bye weekend and began preparations for next Monday's game with the Ravens.
