Rams quarterback Marc Bulger is having his courage called into question by his fans - after a victory. The Rams were leading the Lions, 10-2, with 9 minutes 30 seconds left in the game when Bulger took off on third down and slid for a 5-yard gain at the St. Louis 46-yard line but the only problem was the Rams needed 6 yards. Some fans have already referred to it as Bulger's "Jim Everett moment" - a reference to the play in which the former Los Angeles Rams quarterback hit the turf to avoid a sack in the 1989 NFC Championship Game. "I was close (to a first down)," Bulger said. "There's been times this year I've gone in head first and it's hurt me for a couple weeks. So I thought I had it, but I didn't. I'm really not worried about it."
