According to Michael C. Wright on Twitter, the cast has been removed from Rashean Mathis' hand and he expects to play on Sunday. Mathis is now sporting a small splint in place of the cast and had this to say about his availability for Week 9, "I intend to play. I'm practicing today, I'm practicing all week." The Jags could certainly use their top cornerback this week against what should be a pass-heavy Chiefs offense.
