Vikings coach Brad Childress expressed no real concern today about the groin injury Brett Favre suffered last Wednesday in practice. Favre told Peter King of Sports Illustrated that the injury flared up during pregame warmups Sunday at Lambeau Field and at one point the quarterback informed backup Tarvaris Jackson and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell he had doubts about his ability to drop back. Childress said he was standing right behind Favre when the veteran aggravated the problem. "It twinged a little bit on him," Childress said. "I think he's on the injury report as hip related and all that stuff, that lower chain, all kind of fits together. He was obviously able to practice through everything." Favre, who was limited in practice all last week, is at Winter Park today lifting weights and doing exercises for his hip flexor, according to Childress.
well, hopefully for the Vikings, it doesn't linger or get worse. Favre hasn't exactly been a quick healer the last few seasons. of course, i'm the same age as favre and i don't heal as quickly as i did 15 years ago either ...........
