Wide receiver Brandon Gibson - the player the Eagles traded for Witherspoon - spent the afternoon in street clothes on the sideline at the Edward Jones Dome, watching Indianapolis cruise to a 42-6 win. The Rams' coaches decided that Gibson, a rookie out of Washington State drafted in the sixth round, wasn't up to speed on the offensive scheme - even though it's similar to what the Eagles run. "It's not exact; people think it is, but it's not," coach Steve Spagnuolo explained. "There are little nuances he's got to learn. Getting used to the quarterback, getting used to all those things being out here, that takes a little bit of time. He's a young guy." Apparently Gibson made up considerable ground this week in practice and although the tight-lipped Spagnuolo wouldn't make a commitment, it appears Gibson will suit up Sunday when the 0-7 Rams take on the 1-5 Lions at Detroit's Ford Field.
