| Roger Goodell Downplays Talk Of NFL Team In The UK | | | NFL commissioner Roger Goodell downplayed speculation that the league is targeting London as a home to a franchise. "I think we're getting a little ahead of ourselves there, as far as getting a franchise here," Goodell told CBS on Sunday. Patriots owner Robert Kraft said Friday that placing a franchise in London "would be the right thing to do in the next decade." Goodell cautioned, however, that while the league is pleased with its three-year run at Wembley Stadium and is looking to expand it to two games as soon as next year, placing a team there is not yet a priority. "If we can continue to be successful with every step, if we do play multiple games here in London and they continue to build on the success we already have and our fan base grows, yes, it's realistic to think that could happen someday," Goodell told CBS. "But it's down the road." Source: USA Today | | |
