New Bears DE Gaines Adams Excited About The Trade

The Buccaneers shipped Gaines Adams to the Bears for a second-round draft pick in 2010, and had it been a situation where Tampa was working hard to unload the fourth overall pick of the 2007 draft, the price wouldn’t have been as high. “With hard work and dedication, I believe I can be one of the dominant pass rushers in this league,’’ Adams said Friday night. The Bears will put him to work with defensive line coach Rod Marinelli immediately, and the former Clemson star was drafted to play in the Tampa Two scheme the Bears employ. “Really, I can’t say right now that a fresh start was what I needed,’’ Adams said. “I am just privileged to be a Bear. It is going to be a new start for me, and I am excited. Hopefully, I go out and play Sunday.’’ Adams understand why Morris was pushing his buttons during training camp and again during the early parts of the season. “Being drafted where I was at, there were high expectations for me,’’ he said. “I still have high expectations for myself. I want to thank the Buccaneers for giving me the opportunity, and for picking me in the draft. This is the nature of the beast, though, and this is a new start for me. I am just glad to be a Bear.’’

They're all excited at first. Lets see if he can go out there and earn his paycheck.

He needs a chance of scenery, and he will be a force in Chicago.

Bears fans hope so. Our secondary needs more help than the d line though.

More pressure = the best secondary help you get.
