| Dolphins WR Ted Ginn Wants Kick Return Role | | | Dolphins wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr., who was considered an elite open-field artist when it came to fielding kickoffs and punt returns, thinks he can still create masterpieces as a returner despite his struggles in that role in the NFL. "I still think I'm one of the greats in the business in doing it," said Ginn, who has averaged 21.9 yards on kickoff returns and 9.2 yards on punt returns in his three NFL seasons. "I just have to get an opportunity to." With Patrick Cobbs suffering a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee, Ginn is campaigning for another chance to prove he can provide the special teams punch the Dolphins (2-3) need. "When you look at a return, there are a lot of things to it," Ginn said. "If one guy misses an assignment, it's really screwed. There is a difference between punt return and kickoff return. On punt return two guys can miss their guy and if you beat them to a different level, beat them to a spot, you can break one." Source: Sun-Sentinel | | |
