Dolphins free safety Gibril Wilson has been fined $5,000 by the NFL for unnecessary roughness in Monday night's win over the New York Jets. Wilson, who was flagged for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Jets tight end Ben Hartsock in the third quarter of the Dolphins' 31-27 win, incurred a 15-yard penalty on the play. According to an NFL spokesman, Wilson was fined because he "unnecessarily struck a defenseless receiver."
