Ernie Sims started every game his first three seasons with the Lions. But that doesn't necessarily mean he should have started every game. Sims said Monday that the former Lions coaching regime would just "throw him out there" over the course of his first three seasons in the NFL -- injured or not. When asked about Sims Monday, Lions coach Jim Schwartz said Sims is one of his starting outside linebackers when "100 percent healthy." Rookie DeAndre Levy started in place of Sims on Sunday and has played well in spots, but Schwartz reiterated that when Sims is healthy he will play. "Ernie is an experienced player. He has speed. His experience gives him a little more knowledge in the defense," he said.
