Cowboys To Increase WR Miles Austin's Role?

Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips would not use the term "starter" when talking about Miles Austin, but he said Austin will see just as much playing time on Oct. 25 against Atlanta as he did Sunday at Kansas City. Maybe it's a semantics game, but Austin's 10-catch, 250-yard, 2-touchdown game against the Chiefs has propelled him into the lineup, starting or otherwise. "He did the things we thought he could," Phillips said. "You're not going to make 250 yards every time, but he's going to have a chance to make big plays again." If Austin is a starter, it would likely be at Patrick Crayton's spot even though Austin replaced Roy Williams Sunday.

I think a lot of people thought Austin should start over Crayton before the season began anyway. Definitely now. Let Crayton work the slot.

Because he was able to get all that against the Chiefs?

Give me a fucking break.

Leggett already admitted that he was trying to strip the ball instead of tackle him.

Again: Dump Crayton and his rock hands and start Austin. At least Austin looks like he cares.

That might be true but it is not like Crayton was setting the world on fire on the other side. Austin is the only Cowboys WR that has the speed to get past a CB so that added threat would be nice for the offense.

Watch Austin and you can just see his quickness and speed, we don't have receivers on our team that get in and out of there cuts as quick as he does, and now that he proved that he could make some plays we want him starting opposite of Roy Williams. His speed was showcased, don't matter what cornerbacks he was facing, he was still able to make plays after the catch, and elude tacklers.

On both of his TDs they were missed tackles that lead to a TD. He did have the speed to take it all the way for a TD on those plays something that Hurd was not able to do last week against the Broncos. The only pass play that Dallas completed that the BALL went over 20 yards was to Austin.
