Tony Dungy Tells Michael Vick Raiders Aren't Good Enough For You

The Oakland Raiders have won just 25 of their past 101 games. They are among the worst, if not the worst, teams in the NFL. And, according to former Colts coach Tony Dungy, they're not good enough for Michael Vick. Dungy, who served as Vick's mentor after his reinstatement to the NFL in July, said he told Vick signing with the Raiders would have been a bad decision. "I advised Michael Vick not to go there," Dungy said Sunday on NBC's Football Night in America. " I said, 'Mike, you might be able to start there but that is not a good place for you.' "

...and Tony Dungy would be right. That would be an awful fit for Mike Vick...he's in one of the best possible places he could be right now...he's with an organization that has structure, that has discipline, sure he's not going to start, but he's less likely to get in trouble in Philadelphia too...

Agreed, Ward

Just don't know why everything has to have a public platform with these guys. Give him advice, even great advice, but let him take the responsibility to speak on his own behalf, or not if it's nobody's business.

Guess this would have gone over with me a lot better if Dungy had just said exactly what you said minus the "I advised Michael Vick not to go there". Seems like he's using the platform to preen about his involvement with Vick.

Wow, I can't believe someone like Tony Dungy said that BUT he told Michael Vick the truth. Stay away from the Raiders!

Hell you could give this same advice to ANY quarterback right now. Insert any qb and the quote still works!

"Tony Dungy Tells Ryan Leaf Raiders Aren't Good Enough For You"
