Titans Release QB Patrick Ramsey

The Nashville Tennessean is reporting via their Twitter page that the Titans have released veteran quarterback Patrick Ramsey. Cornerback Cary Williams moves into his roster spot. Ramsey was signed in the offseason but was not able to unseat Vince Young as the backup quarterback.

VY is getting paid too much for Ramsey to beat him out, if the contracts were even I think it may have happened.

I definitely thought he would beat out Vince Young because of his knowledge of the offense and history with Heimerdinger. I was wrong...happy for Vince though. I'd like to see him succeed...

Sounds like the Titans will re-sign Ramsey and that this move was just a roster adjustment to get a 54th man (Carey Williams) on the roster for this week...
