Having been almost a foregone conclusion for two days, the Chargers moved to shore up their defensive line Tuesday when they signed Alfonso Boone to a one-year deal. The Chargers need help on the line, as nose tackle Jamal Williams is out for the season with a torn triceps. Travis Johnson, signed to play end but also capable of playing tackle, is out for at least another week with a groin strain.
