Steelers [Steelers] Steelers SS Tyrone Carter Might Be Out Next Week

Steelers strong safety Tyrone Carter could join starter Troy Polamalu out of the lineup this week when the Steelers open competition in the AFC North Division at Cincinnati. Carter came out of the 17-14 loss Sunday in Chicago with a severely bruised left thigh, the result of his thunderous hit on Bears tight end Greg Olsen that left them both shaken. Ryan Mundy could well move into the starting job at strong safety if Carter cannot play or they have options with two veteran cornerbacks, Deshea Townsend and Keiwan Ratliff, who have practiced at safety.

Carter played the remaining part of the game with that injury. Perhaps with a little rest, he can get it going again on Sunday. I don't like the fact that we'd be down to our third Safety there with a Bengals team that could go pass happy at any moment and that is playing with a little confidence after a win in Green Bay...
