Steelers Players Preferred Byron Leftwich To Ben Roethlisberger?

It really wasn't a fair quarterback duel between Byron Leftwich and the since-traded Luke McCown this summer. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin encouraged Bucs coach Raheem Morris, a friend, to sign Leftwich, telling him that many Steelers preferred Leftwich to Ben Roethlisberger last season. That was enough for Morris.

well, czarnecki says that tomlin told bucs to get leftwich and that players preferred leftwich. maybe he was lying to get morris to sign him. odd, b/c steelers offered leftwich a deal as well.
