Vontae Davis, the Miami Dolphins' first-round draft pick who injured his left knee in Thursday's preseason finale in New Orleans, was held out of Saturday's practice. Davis, a reserve cornerback, was without pads and helmet as he did light conditioning and agility work on the sidelines with a trainer. Davis, the former Illinois star, lost his bid for a starting role early in training camp to second-rounder Sean Smith, but Davis has made steady progress as he seeks a more significant role.
