Rams QB Kyle Boller Taught Scrambling By Steve McNair

Kyle Boller credits the late Steve McNair for showing him how a quarterback can break down a defense by taking off and running with the ball. Boller and McNair played together with the Baltimore Ravens in 2006 and 2007. It was McNair's final two seasons in the NFL. "He used to use his legs a lot more when he was younger, but he used to tell me a lot of times, 'Man, if it isn't there, take off and use your legs. That kills a defense,''' Boller said. "He helped me out with that."

I think the crappy O-line at the time had more to do with his 'scrambling' than McNair's tutelage - after all he ran more like a guy running for his life than an athlete trying to manipulate a defense, nice try tho Kyle.
