Civil Rights Groups To Rally Around Eagles QB Michael Vick

The Philadelphia chapter of the NAACP, the Black Clergy of Philadelphia and other local civil rights groups are planning a massive demonstration to support Michael Vick at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday, when Vick is expected to make his debut with the Eagles. "We believe Michael Vick has served his time, paid his debt to society and deserves a second chance and the animal rights groups want to hold him hostage for the rest of his life," J. Whyatt Mondesire, president of the Philadelphia chapter of the NAACP, said Wednesday. "We think that's patently unfair. It denies Michael Vick's basic civil rights, denies him his ability to make a living." Mondesire said about a half-dozen groups from around the Philadelphia area were planning to meet at the front of Lincoln Financial Field and begin a march around the stadium prior to the Eagles' preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This is the same guy who said that McNabb wasn't acting black enough a couple of years ago. I hope them and PETA all kill each other in a war tomorrow night.

seriously though, what the fuck are they demonstrated for ? he has not been denied anything. maybe they feel he should've gotten $2mil instead of $1.6mil for the 1st year ? feel he should be #2 on the depth chart perhaps ?

what horrible injustice has been brought down upon vick that the NAACP feels a need to protest ?

lucky this is just a pre-season game where most of the people there get their tix from the season tix holder. if it were a regular season game they would get trampled.

Why is that funny BiTB? Can you relate?

What I want to know is... how long till we have the reverend Al up in the booth? I am sure he's done dry humping Michael Jackson's corpse by now.
