| Bears CB Charles Tillman Targets Being Ready For Opener | | | Considering the way the Bears' pass defense struggled in the preseason opener, the sight of Charles Tillman backpedaling on the practice field Monday was a promising sign. Tillman, sidelined since the start of training camp after minor back surgery, did his most extensive work in months, running sprints and performing agility drills with fellow injured cornerback Zack Bowman. "My goal is to be out there for the first game," Tillman said about the Sept. 13 opener at Green Bay. "If I'm not (ready), I'm not. But I'm just taking it one game at a time. "I'll play when I'm ready. I'm not going to try and hurt myself for the long road by trying to get out there too early when I'm not ready." Source: Chicago Tribune | | |
