Lions [Lions] Lions Rookie TE Brandon Pettigrew To Start Immediately?

Tom Kowalski from MLive.com says that barring any unforeseen circumstances, Lions rookie tight end Brandon Pettigrew will step into the starting position for the Lions and while he'll make some rookie mistakes early, he should grow into the job quickly. While he's soft spoken off the field, Pettigrew is emotionally charged on it. Highly competitive and focused, Pettigrew was very animated after catching the touchdown in the goal-line drill because he had defenders hanging all over him.

you can drink the kool aid on pettigrew, hes about as sure thing as they come. stafford has some serious weapons. Calvin, Bryant, northcutt and pettigrew could be pretty serious

Alot of people didn't like the Pettigrew pick, but it seemed extremely sensible to me. This kid should be a great weapon for years to come

Hes a good pick but i think people got down on it - and the delmas pick - because they were in the position to take a good LT like Michael Oher or someone on the DLine like Peria Jerry or Ziggy Hood instead of him which wil lhave fufilled a perceived bigger need.

they got sammie lee hill who in a few years is gonna be a monster. pettigrew and delmas will start immediately and they got a steal with delmas, hes gonna be a top safety. their oline really isnt THAT bad, its not good but with the offensive potential they have the line should be able to come together...hopefully cherilus steps up this year for them.

but i agree, they definitely should have taken ziggy hood

lol yeah i have alot of posts dedicated to it. but that being said hes a player to be excied about if he were a lion, a colt, a buc, a falcon.

but back to pettigrew, hes a vicious blocker and a big physical reciever, they will notice his presence right away, same with delmas
