Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett has been tabbed by Rod Woodson and Jamie Dukes of NFL Network as one of the top five defensive tackles in the league. But hed appreciate even more the salary that goes with that standing. I wish I can get paid like the top 5, Dockett wrote Monday night on his Twitter account. Dockett has been trying to get a new contract from the Cardinals, but he has had zero success, signed through 2011, Docket is due to earn salaries of $3.5 million, $3.75 million, and $4 million over the next three seasons.

He's never even made the pro bowl, at least not really. He went as an alternate.

Regardless, I do think he is a top 5 tackle, and would deserve that kind of money. Problem is, he signed an extension 2 years ago, and was already bitching about it last offseason. Sorry, but you don't sign a 5 year deal, then bitch about it 1 year later.

Exactly. I mean, you're making millions of dollars a year in a shitty economy, playing a game for fucks sake. Count your blessings and stop bitching about how you're not the richest player in the league.

As do I. Once you've signed your name on the dotted line, that should be your pay for the length agreed upon. Sure, the owners should have some way of holding up there end of the bargain too, but lets face it. In any job, the higher up's can always get rid of you at the drop of a hat, that's just the way it is.
