Broncos tight end Tony Scheffler started his offseason wondering what his role was with the team but as OTA practices went on, it became very apparent that head coach Josh McDaniels will find a big role for him. The Patriots weren't tight-end friendly with McDaniels calling plays, but Scheffler is the kind of talent McDaniels has to utilize. He is fast and has great hands, and is a matchup problem for most teams.
Guys Scheffler will have a big year. Orton loved his tight ends in Chicago with Clark and Olsen. New England TE's just weren't pass catching guys. Ben Watson was the best receiving TE on the roster and he wasn't reliable. Scheffler will catch a ton of passes this year, and be a big weapon in the red zone.
