| Rams Head Into Camp With New Look Along D-Line | | |
| Arguably the most intriguing piece of the defensive puzzle awaiting new Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo is the interior of the defensive line, where there no longer will be specific three-technique or nose-tackle designations. Instead, former first-round draft pick Adam Carriker and third-year pro Clifton Ryan will be positioned at left tackle and right tackle, respectively, each taking on flexible starting roles depending on the situations. Spagnuolo did the same thing with his tackles when he coached the Giants defense, a team insider said of the new setup. Its an interesting premise, since neither Carriker nor Ryan was a pure nose or three-technique-type anyway. What also could be really interesting are the same kind of four-DE looks in passing situations that Spagnuolo perfected with the Giants, with reserve DEs James Hall and Victor Adeyanju occasionally shifting inside.
