Vikings To Sign Free Agent WR Marvin Harrison?

There's buzz that the Vikings might sign ex-Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison, 36, who is near the end of his career and has tender knees, to a one-year, low-end deal to provide competition for Sidney Rice. Harrison started 15 games for the Colts in 2008 compiling 60 catches for 636 yards and five touchdowns.

If nothing else Marvin could help the younger guys like Rice Harvin and Berrian, who never really had the chance to learn from a real vet WR.

He would've gotten the walking papers either way. 80 catches in two years does not equal $13M.

If I were the Vikings I'd give him $1M ($250 in signing bonus/$750 in salary), $1M bonus if he hits 60 catches, $3M bonus if he hits 75...something like that...

If I recall he was asked to rework his contract to get a big pay cut and he said no.

Not really, theoretically, it gives him more time to find a new team and get acquainted with them...granted nothing has happened, but that's after the fact.

Isray wanted Harrison to retire...Polian wanted to rework Marvin's $13.4M deal or eventually release him...Harrison requested to be traded. Caldwell wanted to keep him though...

He shot a guy and gets a contract offer? All Michael Vick did was kill dogs and he got crucified. Our justice system is messed up.
