Texans [Texans] Rex Grossman Battling To Be Texans No.3 QB

Monday marked quarterback Rex Grossmans battle for a spot on the Texans roster. Grossman, who signed with the Texans as a free agent on Friday, joined the team for the opening day of mini-camp and will compete against Alex Brink for the third quarterback spot behind starter Matt Schaub and Dan Orlovsky. Its another opportunity for me to be in this league and get to where I want to be, Grossman said. Im going to work as hard as I can and let the chips fall where they may. Im 28 years old. Ive got a lot left. Im hungry to get back up, to start at some point in my career and get back to the Super Bowl. So Im extremely motivated.

At least let them compete until pre season is over than make a decision.
Dan Orvloski hasn't earned anything, why should he be given the #2 job.
Alex Brink could be something, but if your'e giving out jobs before the pre season
you will frustrate a lot of players when the realize they can't compete.

Yea Rex will be number 2 and number one for a few games in the regular season because of the Annual Matt Schaub injury.

That head is too huge to not get rattled.

But if dude can stay healthy, you guys can be playoff contenders.

I agree too but I doubt that Schaub will ever get in a full season Sadly.

He's gotta be, at least, the 2nd best QB on that team. I guarantee that he will end up starting, at least, one game this upcoming season.

Yeah, know Schaub has proven he can't stay healthy for a whole season and god know what the Texans have with Orlovsky, I think Rex starting atleast one game for the Texans in 2009 is a safe bet.
