49ers Rookie OT Alex Boone Won't Leave Hotel
Posted By: 86WARD 06-22-2009 , 08:57 AM

Ever since he arrived in Santa Clara for the latest minicamp and organized team activity (OTA) sessions, Alex Boone has bunked out at a nearby hotel. And followed one rule. "I just don't go out," Boone says. "That limits the opportunity to be around alcohol. When I met with somebody about all this, they were like, 'You're a smart kid. So you know what to do.' " Four months ago after attending a Super Bowl party, Boone got very drunk and went haywire.

Hiding inside doesn't cure alcoholism.

no but doing whatever it takes to not take a sip when you crave it does, so I give this kid alot of credit for realizing he has a great opportunity and trying not to fuck it up. In this day of pro athletes it's refreshing to see someone being proactive and realizing he has issues

What this kid is doing is great. I hope he overcomes his drinking problems.

He knows it's his last chance to make in the NFL. Undrafted free agents don't get many chances. So hopefully he can take advantage and have a long successful NFL career.
