Rams Coach Steve Spagnuolo Promises A Tough Training Camp

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo bid an inspirational farewell to the players Tuesday but left them with a warning about training camp, which begins after rookies, quarterbacks and selected veterans report July 29. "The first five days are definitely a bear, the way it's laid out, the times of practices, the length of practices," Spagnuolo said of his plans for workouts. "Typically, if you don't come in shape and in the right frame of mind, you run the risk of getting injured and not being up to speed for what we want to do. After that, it doesn't get that much easier, but it tends to thin out a little bit and they're able to survive."

Who cares about the toughness of the camp? Ill take a soft camp that wins me games over a hard camp that gives me a 4 and 12 record.

Your missing the point here. The Rams are in dire need to have a tough but fair coach who pushes for great work ethics. By making camp tough Spags will be able to see who fits this mold along with his four pillars of success. St. Louis is not expecting anything this year. Shit most fans would throw a parade for spags if we go 4-12. The point is he is building this team for 3 or 4 years down the road and this is how he will be able to weed out the lazy players. Come in and show you arent afraid to work and you have a place on this team for years to come, dont and your out the door.
