Seahawks LB Aaron Curry To Play Some At DE

Seattle first-round pick Aaron Curry's role as a pass-rusher will evolve depending on how well he handles those duties during training camp. As he told KJR radio's Mitch Levy, "I play linebacker and defensive end." Linebacker will be Curry's primary position, but his potential emergence as a pass-rusher was one of the key story lines through minicamps and organized team activities.

um, back-up for a minute. curry is not the speediest pass rusher in the world and that's rumored to be why the chiefs passed him up to play OLB in a 3-4. the comment made by mora regarding curry's pass-rushing abilities was just that they were 'better' than expected. they aren't saying he's the next derrick thomas or michael strahan. With Curry's size, the Seahawks may be thinking that he could play down in some different shifts/unusual formations in their 4-3 to give them some flexibility. The guy is 6-3 and right now 250 lbs. They may be looking to pack a few pounds on him so that he can play up or down but not for any special pass rushing skills that he possesses.

Thats how you justify taking a LB in the top 5!

"Ummmm....Errr.......He's going to play Defensive End!.....yeah.....that fooled 'em!"

Pioli doesnt believe taking OLB that high. Besides, if we dont have the DE's for the 3-4 then what good is having a OLB. Taking Tyson was the right move. You can find OLB off the streets. Just look at James Harrison for the Steelers.
