Another Georgia football player is suspended after an arrest this offseason. Junior outside linebacker Chase Vasser must sit out the first two games of the season after he was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and for driving in an improper lane in Atlanta on May 11. “Chase Vasser will serve a two game suspension as per our Athletic Association policy,” head coach Mark Richt told the Athens Banner-Herald through a spokesman. Georgia opens the season against Buffalo and plays its second game at Missouri. Vasser was stopped by Georgia State Patrol at 2:33 a.m. on May 11 after a trooper saw Vasser’s red pickup weaving on Piedmont Road at Peachtree in the Buckhead section of Atlanta. He pulled Vasser over and administered a sobriety test and breathalyzer after smelling alcohol in the car, according to an incident report obtained Thursday by the Athens Banner-Herald.
