Arkansas State RB Michael Dyer Unable To Play For Red Wolves In 2012
by Chipper10 07-05-2012, 06:49 PM

The NCAA has denied former Auburn running back Michael Dyer's request to be immediately eligible to play this season at Arkansas State. Red Wolves coach Gus Malzahn disclosed the news today. Dyer, who was the first Tiger tailback to rush for more than 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons, transferred to Arkansas State in January and went through spring practice. The Arkansas native and former Little Rock Christian standout had applied for a waiver to be immediately eligible to play this season, but Malzahn said the NCAA denied the request. Dyer was the offensive MVP of the 2011 national championship game as a freshman and was named to the Southeastern Conference Coaches' All-Freshman Team.

So he quits football and school and becomes a tax payers problem?

Second chances make the world go round.

Dyer wasn't thrown out of Auburn. He left by choice. Most believe he will sit out this year and either play next year or go straight to the draft.

He was suspended the bowl game. He left to go with Malzahn. That's his choice. Though, why he's not eligible to play this year and Crowell is..is beyond me.

It's pretty simple.

Dyer- Transferred to another D1 school so he has to sit out a year.

Crowell- Transferred to a D2 school so he can play immediately.

Those are the rules.
