P.J. Fleck Resigns At Northern Illinois
P.J. Fleck has resigned as Northern Illinois offensive coordinator one day after being introduced into the position, Huskies coach Dave Doeren announced on Friday."P.J. called today and said he does not feel he's ready to be an offensive coordinator," Doeren said in a statement. "It's unfortunate, but what's best for our program is to move in a different direction and that's what I'm going to do."Fleck was announced Thursday as Northern Illinois offensive coordinator, replacing Matt Canada, who took the same the position at Wisconsin. Fleck played for Northern Illinois from 1999-2003 and was the team's wide receivers coach from 2007-09. He was the wide receivers coach at Rutgers for the past two seasons.Doeren has already spoken to several candidates to replace Fleck, according to the school's press release."Everything happens for a reason and the result of this will make NIU football even better," Doeren said.
