| Chiefs Sign Veteran FS Abram Elam
The Kansas City Chiefs announced today they have signed veteran safety Abram Elam. Details of the contract were not released. The unrestricted free agent started 16 games for the Cowboys last season and has made 64 career starts over his six-year NFL career. Elam visited the Chiefs as a free agent on May 24th. He is one of several free agent safeties the Chiefs have hosted this offseason. The 6-0, 207-pounder has played in 92 career games with Dallas (2006, 2011), the New York Jets (2007-08) and Cleveland (2009-10). Hes recorded 365 tackles (271 solo), 5.0 sacks (-39.0 yards) and three interceptions for 110 yards, including a 92-yard touchdown return. Source: The Redzone
