Jaguars, Kicker Josh Scobee Haven't Talked In Months

Reports coming out of Jacksonville have indicated the team has not communicated with franchise kicker Josh Scobee in months, Scobee's agent confirmed that lack of communication with Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union. “Josh has asked me not to discuss specifics of negotiations other than what has already been said. That is, we had some talks early on involving proposals from both sides, but haven’t heard back from them in months. We know our last proposal is very fair.’’ Since Scobee is a free agent with an unsigned franchise tag, the team has until July 16 to negotiate a long-term deal with him. The two sides can still negotiate after July 16, but Scobee could only sign a one year deal before the season is over, the franchise tag calls for him to make $2.88 million. Scobee's agent believes their proposal is a fair deal. Jaguars general manager Gene Smith believes the team is offering a fair deal but neither side is budgng. The two sides still have 21 days to agree on a long-term deal, but there are no talks currently taking place and they haven't talked for months.
