| Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew Plans To Hold Out If He Doesn't Get An Extension Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew said in an interview on the NFL Network that he does plan to hold out if he does not get a new contract extension, reports the Sporting News. Jones-Drew hasn't participated in the off-season program and missed the team’s mandatory mini-camp last week. He remains optimistic, however, team officials will give him the richer, longer-term contract he desires. "This is the side of the NFL that's just as real as Sunday," Jones-Drew said. "This is what the NFL is really about. What I can say is that I hope that we can get something done." Jones-Drew has two years remaining on his current contract, which pays him $4.45 million this year and another $4.95 million in 2013. Given he's the NFL's reigning rushing yardage champion at age 27, he is looking for both a payoff on what he's already accomplished and some security beyond his prime. Source: CBSSports
