NFL Championships: Are They The Only Thing?

I've always wondered whether hard-core fans of NFL teams would prefer to sit through years of horrible football just for the opportunity to win 1 Super Bowl or if being competitive almost every year would be preferable. So tell me, which 10-year period would you prefer to live through while rooting for your team?

Scenario #1

7 seasons of 4-12 or worse ball
2 seasons around .500
1 Super Bowl win

Scenario #2

3 seasons around .500
7 seasons in playoffs with 5 division championships, 2 conference championships, but no Super Bowl wins.

Great question. I think I'd go with 2. Thoughts behind it being that in order to win it, you have to get there. But if you get there and don't win it, hmmmmmmm...

Lol. Great question Captain.

Scenario #1. It's nice to be competitive most years, but it doesn't mean much without a championship. It gets frustrating.

As a Cub fan I know the frustration of not having a championship. If they won just 1 World Series I would be happy. A championship would make all the losing a distant memory.

I'll answer it two-fold...

If my team has already won a Super Bowl prior to these ten years, give me scenario #2 any day. Keeps me interested and not completely disgusted with the franchise.

If my team has not won a Super Bowl ever, I'll take scenario #1.

#1. Championships don't come easy. And at least for that one year, you can rise up and know that your team was the best that there was.

Well I'm only 20 so I got a while to wait. If they don't win one in the next 40-60 years then fuck em. Lol.

What Bigsexy said is spot on though.
