NFL Odds To Win Super Bowl XLVI

I looked at a few sites to see what the current odds are for each team still alive to win the Super Bowl. Here are their average odds and my thoughts:

Packers -- 7 to 4
I don't think this is good money--yes, the Packers are impressive but I would like this to be more along the lines of 3 to 1 or 4 to 1. It's just not that easy to win it all

Patriots -- 7 to 2
This is the worst bet of all of them in my opinion. This is simply from name recognition alone. The Pats are not the 2nd best team in the NFL. They should be with Baltimore, Pitt, and San Fran in the 2nd tier of teams and somewhere around 8 to 1 or worse.

Saints -- 11 to 2
This is about where it should be. The NFC appears to be stronger than the AFC this year so if the Saints can get to the big game, you have to like their chances.

Ravens -- 8 to 1
There's a wide variance on the odds for this team. Right now, I could get them at 10.5 to 1 on one site, which is pretty decent. 8 to 1 is about where they're averaging and right where they should be.

49ers -- 12 to 1
This is mainly because they have to deal with the Packers and/or the Saints in the NFC. I like their chances if they can get through a tough NFC and I would take these odds.

Steelers-- 12 to 1
These aren't bad odds at all. I would put some money on them at 12 to 1. The AFC isn't necessarily that strong and they certainly have the experience to know how to win in January.

Every other team -- 20 to 1 or longer odds
Even some of the remaining teams that have already clinched playoff positions are upwards of 50 to 1 odds. I wouldn't have a problem putting a few bucks on the other teams in the playoffs if i can get 50 to 1 or even 30 to 1 odds. Sure, they're longshots, but we all know weird things can happen in the playoffs because we've seen it many times.

can't believe the Saints are 11-2. they are capable of giving the Pack a serious run for their money.

i'm sure there is a way to place a bet if you like those odds ........... personally, i think they're right where they should be. the packers should be the favorites but they and the pats are not good odds. not enough pay back for how difficult it is to win it all.

how are they that high. I think the Saints can and will win in the rematch. that is why i don't gamble.

yes, the packer and patriot bets are what are known as 'sucker' bets........ they're the big names/popular names, so the books don't have to make their odds as appealing to get action.

like i said, in reality, based upon what we know about all of these teams, the packers should be about 7 to 2 and the patriots should be about 8 to 1.

My bet for Superbowl is Saints Ravens with the Saints winning. I will be betting these odds.

since yesterday's games, the packers are moving down to almost 2 to 1 now and the saints are moving up to 9 to 2. money is moving from the packers to the saints for whatever that is worth. amazingly, the patriots seem to be hanging at 7 to 2
