In the beginning Mike had more lawyer access to NFL players going bad in getting police and court reports. Nothing wrong with that. Mike grew into a respectable insider in my opinion. Hence he got picked up by NBC and started to make the big $$. Love him or hate him, he done good for himself, and all by himself. | Well I am happy we finally have a Mike Florio fan to defend his tactics. If you have been his long time follower, then you should recall that he ripped off ESPN for his whole RUMOR MILL schtick. He actually was employed by ESPN back in the early part of the last decade to run ESPN's rumor-mill column. He declined to extend his contract and instead started his own PFT site using the same theme. Since then, he has gathered a mindless following by taking cheap shots against players, teams, and the NFL itself before getting absorbed by NBC - who were merely buying his fanatical fanbase ( a nod to you). I suppose journalistic integrity is not required when the bloggers can hide behind the vague pretension that everything they write is merely a RUMOR, not a fact. Not even ESPN, SI.com, or FOXSports.com pretends that they are merely relaying rumors. In fact, these sites use PFT as a source when relaying rumors. HA! THere will always be fans like you who contend there is nothing wrong with twisting anonymous sources into a factual report, but Mike Florio is merely the 'internet hack' that he even he refers to himself as. |
