Cowboys Trade For Dolphins C/G Ryan Cook

Dolphins backup center Ryan Cook started Wednesday night’s game in Dallas, spent four hours on the runway, got back home at 7:30 Thursday morning, and now has to go right back to Dallas.

Cook, a seven-year veteran who signed with Miami last year after being cut from Minnesota, said on his Facebook page Thursday night that he has been traded to the Cowboys. According to Dallas area broadcaster Bob Sturm of Fox Sports Southwest, the Dolphins will get a seventh-round pick for Cook, who likely would have lost out the backup center job to undrafted rookie Josh Samuda. Cook is much costlier, as he is set to make $1 million this season. He will still count $100,000 against the Dolphins’ salary cap.
