| Cowboys C Phil Costa To Return Next Week, Team Will Still Sign Center With Phil Costa out at least for the preseason opener with a back injury, adding to a depleted center position that is already without the top two backups, Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said the team will checking it’s short of possible free agent snappers to add to the roster. One name on the list is former Cowboys Pro Bowler, Andre Gurode, who played with Ravens last year after being cut by the Cowboys in training camp. The good news for the Cowboys is that a magnetic resonance imaging exam on Costa came back negative for any thing serious or longterm. Owner Jerry Jones said there were no disc issues and believes Costa will be back on the practice field next week. “I don’t see Costa out next week at all,” Jones said. “The real question for me is will we play him Monday."
