| Bears QB Jay Cutler Says It's Time The Offense Takes The 'Next Step' Jay Cutler pulled up to the dorm Tuesday without any concerns about who would be his No. 1 receiver or which running back would be taking his handoffs this season. The addition of three-time Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall and last week’s signing of running back Matt Forte ensured Cutler’s offense would be fully intact for the start of training camp Thursday – save for speedy receiver Johnny Knox, who continues to recover from spinal fusion surgery. "I think everyone’s comfortable," Cutler said. "Obviously, there’s still a lot of work to do with training camp, so we need to take that next step as an offense." Besides Marshall, the Bears added veteran running back Michael Bush to back up Forte, added veteran quarterback Jason Campbell to back up Cutler, and drafted receiver Alshon Jeffery to bolster the receiving corps. "We added some pieces. We’ve got Matt back on board. … I think he’s really going to like the offense. B-Marsh is a new addition. We’ve got some young guys. I think the offensive line is going to be excited to finally put some pads on and get some good work in." Source: Chicago Tribune |
