RB Matt Forte Says He'll Play With Bears In 2012

Matt Forte's contract dispute with the Bears has no easy solution, and yet it shouldn't be that big a concern for Bears fans, Forte is due $7.7 million if he signs his franchise tag. That's more than double the amount of money he made in his first four seasons combined, even if he doesn't get a long-term deal, he's not going to miss those 17 paydays during the regular season. Speaking to the Bears radio network on Friday, Forte confirmed that he won't sit out the season. That's no surprise, the question is when he will show up to work. It's a positive that Forte promised to play this season. It's a positive that the two sides continue to talk contract, compared to the Maurice Jones-Drew situation, Bears fans shouldn't be that worried about Forte's status.

He's upset, not stupid. They need to just lock him down and keep him in a Bears uniform. I'm sure the Packers would LOVE to snatch him up from the Bears and that wouldn't be good!!!

Anytime you miss a payday especially when you need the money, you are crazy. I would despise the Packers even more if they snatched up Forte but honestly wouldn't blame them knowing they need a runningback.
