| Bills Opt Out Of NFL's New Blackout Policy The Buffalo Bills are opting out of the NFL’s new, relaxed policy on televised blackouts, the team announced Friday. The Bills will not follow the new rule, which states that a local television blackout will be lifted if 85 percent of non-premium seats are sold. The old rule required a sellout 72 hours before kickoff to prevent a blackout — and it appears the Bills are still abiding by that. “We are a volume-based franchise,” Bills CEO Russ Brandon said. “For us to be successful, we have to keep our ticket prices low and sell a great number of tickets. At 73,000 strong, our fans create one of the best home field advantages in the entire National Football League.” Source: Rochester Democrat & Chronicle |
