Boxing The Boxing Thread

thought we could use a general thread about boxing here so we can discuss the state of the sport, it's history and it's future. like many i think boxing has been brought down by promotors but i still love the sport. growing i still remember sitting there with my dad and uncles watching big fights and then doing the same as i grew up.

my personal favs:

ali
frazer
haggler
duran
holmes
pac man
hopkins

oh and did anyone watch the fight on hbo this passed weekend ? paul williams got knocked the fuck out !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hatton got his ass handed to him from what I read. I know it's not Ricky but still.

Cotto V. Mayorga is next.

I grew up watching JC Chavez who was one of my heroes when I was a kid. Too bad he didn't know when to retire.

Hatton lost yesterday to "Canelo" Alvarez. The most overrated mexican fighter ever. He had no business fighting for the World Championship.

i haven't watched a boxing match in probably 15 years. Now watch mma. It has taken over for that void.

boxing has def taken a hit thanks to the likes of don king. shame too becuase now money ranks over ethics and the diesire to beat the best.

if there was a way to regulate the purse so that you get paid more to fight the best ranked vs. what may bring to best PPV money.
