USF QB B.J. Daniel's Hamstring Injury Not As Serious As Feared; No Tear.

USF football coach Skip Holtz briefly addressed quarterback B.J. Daniels' hamstring injury before Tuesday's evening practice, saying that the injury wasn't a serious one and shouldn't sideline him for more than a few days. "His hamstring has been sore the last couple of days, and he's kind of been nursing it, getting a lot of treatment with it," Holtz said. "He just tightened up, knotted up. He didn't pull it. It's not severe or anything like that. He's going to be a little bit limited for a couple of days. We're going to work on trying to get that knot out of there. There's no deficit. There's no tear or anything else. He should be fine." Daniels was in good spirits Tuesday night, joking with quarterbacks coach Peter Vaas and backup Bobby Eveld. "He will probably be able to do a little bit of limited throwing and everything. This doesn't affect his arm or what he's doing with that. He won't take any team work for about two days. And then we'll turn and evaluate it from there. I would expect it to be just a couple-of-days deal." USF has three and a half weeks before its opener at Notre Dame, and Holtz joked that many players would like to get a few days off from camp as the team trains in Vero Beach.
