Pitt LB Byran Murphy Ruled Academically Ineligible; Will Redshirt This Season

The Pitt Panthers depth on defense took a hit today with the announcement of an ineligible player. Sophomore outside linebacker Bryan Murphy has been declared academically ineligible for the 2011 season. Murphy is expected to take a redshirt this year. He played in six games last season as a reserve defensive end and was expected to back up starter Brandon Lindsey. Murphy was a highly ranked 4-star recruit from Don Bosco Prep.
