Texas redshirt freshman wide receiver Chris Jones is transferring after two seasons with the program. The school said Tuesday it has given Jones an unconditional release from his scholarship. It's not known where he will go. Jones was a two-time all-state selection as wide receiver and kick returner at Daingerfield High School. He helped Daingerfield to consecutive Class 2A Division II titles and a 30-2 record in 2008-09.
