Oklahoma (No. 9 BCS, No. 11 AP) lost top running back Dominique Whaley on the first play of Saturday's game against Kansas State (No. 8 BCS, No. 10 AP) with an injury to his left leg. Whaley was blocking on a run by Roy Finch when he was rolled over in the backfield. The Sooners' leading rusher appeared in obvious pain while several trainers and Kansas State coach Bill Snyder came out to check on him. An air cast was put on his left leg extending from his foot to his knee, and Whaley was taken off the field on a cart. There was no immediate word on the extent of the injury.
