Pryor Will See Playing Time In OSU Opener

Ohio State freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor, one of the most talked-about recruits in college football history, is listed as third on the Buckeyes depth chart. But coach Jim Tressel confirmed today that he does expect Pryor to play when Ohio State opens its season on Saturday against Youngstown State. Hes nervous because hes the kind of guy that wants everyone to be pleased with his performance, starting with himself. Hes a perfectionist, Tressel said of Pryor. But I think when it comes down to the concepts that our people have asked him to understand, the true Xs and Os that people have asked him to understand, I think hes done an excellent job.

Not really a surprise here. Everything I keep hearing is that Pryor will have some packages much like Tebow did in Florida's championship run. Might as well go ahead and get him in there now.

I keep hearing a mixture. Some OSU fans that are hyped to see Pryor play, and others (one in paticular who shall remain nameless, you know who you are) who want to stick w/the traditional 3 yards and a cloud of dust philosophy. Honestly, w/a RB like B Wells, I'd pound it until the other team just can't take it anymore.

Agreed. Why fix it if it isn't broken. Hopefully Pryor stays injury free.

I am sure Beanie will get plenty of carries to pound it I can see him getting 1900 yards this season

This is the problem I see w/OSU running the spread. Yes, Pryor will be an outstanding spread QB. He has the arm and the legs to do it. The thing is, the rest of this team is not built to run the spread. It's a completely different offense than what they have been running, requiring different personel types.

Just saw that Beanie is at the top of SI's Heisman list.

Yeah, if Tressell doesn't get to Pryor happy, I could see Wells blowing up for 2K yards. He's a beast.
