Jets Need To Make A Statement Sunday Against New England.

For years, the Patriots have owned this rivalry. The Patriots have beaten the Jets 10 out of their last 11 games, including the postseason. They have owned this rivalry, because the Jets were inferior to the Patriots. Their defenses have bullied the Jets offense, Tom Brady has torched the Defense, and the Patriots would attack the weaknesses of the Jets, and attack early and often so that the Jets do not get any confidence. This is only week 2, but the Jets need to win. If they do win, not only will the Jets go 2-0, and be in the driver's seat in the AFC East, they will get respect, they would send the entire NFL a message that these aren't the same old Jets, and confidence will be built, throughout the Jets orginization.

If they lose, however, the Patriots will feel just as confident as the 2007 Patriots would, and they would continue to be the cream of the AFC East crop, and the Jets.... well, they would be the same old Jets that fans have been familiar with for 39 years. Eric Mangini, if I were you, I would make sure that the same old Jets will be dead, and the new, confident, different Jets will take the field in Giants Stadium for the 1st time this season. It is time to make a statement!

I will make this very simple, Randy Moss. If he is randy of last year it won't matter who is at quarterback. Sure the pats lost brady, but last time I checked the pats were good in almost every aspect of a team.

Yeah man, that's why we need to bring the blitz often against Cassell. He has no experience of being a starter in the NFL and College, the pressure is on Cassell to fill Brady's shoes!

Agreed. I'd blitz him, and get him throwing interceptions. However, I'm sure the Pats are working on that aspect of the game and practicing audibles to counter that. Welker could have a huge game in countering the blitz with quick passes. If Jets can't beat us without Brady, they are doomed in making a run at the division with the Bills looking strong.

Well, not exactly doomed, but we wouldn't be in a good situation. But there's a whole lot of football left to be played, so we'll never know.

Cassel should be fine...he won't put up Brady-esque numbers, but he'll be productive.

Until the KC game, he has looked absolutely horrible everytime he's played. I thought he'd be cut this year. He totally lacks self confidence,so this week is going to be a huge test, as to how he will do as our starter. I'm not overly confident over the deal, and rightly so.
